An adequate soil amendment consists of the massive application of basic salts in order to neutralize the acidity caused by hydrogen, aluminum, iron and manganese.

The products that are used as soil acidity correctives are mainly carbonates, oxides, hydroxides and silicates. Due to their different chemical nature, these materials have a variable neutralization capacity.

The greater effectiveness in the correction of the acidity of the soil and the problems that this generates, is based on the stability of the reactions that happen when applying
certain type of amendment.

For this reason, when correctives containing silicon of high reactivity are applied, a faster action on the heavy metals and a prolonged action in its pH regulating function is assured.

MAGNESIUM SILICATE contained in products such as TORNADO p and TERRAMAG 12, directly stabilize the aluminum of the soil (Al3 +), precipitating it in inactive silicates and not reversible over time or at least more stable than aluminum hydroxide (Al (OH ) 3) which is like the traditional amendments
inactivate the Aluminum.

The presence of free mono silicic acid in the soil solution prevents added phosphorus, such as DAP, MAP or other soluble phosphorus sources from binding to soil colloids, making them unavailable to plants.
